Aquaculture Industry Innovators

One of the driving forces behind the new Abington Aquaculture team is Douglas Dilger, who was one of the early pioneers of the industry in Australia during the 1980’s and 90’s. He operated his own aquaculture business and was a consultant and advisor to international companies and government departments.

Douglas is excited to lead our operation on behalf of the new Abington Aquaculture team.

Our Systems and Facility

Organic

Our process replicates the ideal natural conditions for fish to grow and flourish. We do not use antibiotics, growth hormones or chemicals to raise our fish. (One of our goals is for Abington Aquaculture products to be certified organic.)

Controlled

Australia has some of the strictest food safety standards in the world. At Abington Aquaculture we strive to not only meet, but exceed these standards to produce the healthiest, highest quality fish possible.

Environmentally Friendly

We have strived to retain as much of the surrounding bushland as possible with the aquaculture infrastructure blending into the surrounding environment. The property includes a wildlife corridor and in the future we have plans to expand our operation to include eco-tourism.
